Regardless of what kind of cellist you wish to be your skill must match the greatness of the instrument itself. Build your art on a rock, not on sand.
After several years that I dedicated to restoring and directing the NC Bach Festival,
I am actively rebuilding my private studio. I am accepting regular students and chamber ensembles from all over the world for virtual lessons and master consultations.

There are many methods and approaches to learning the cello. Some are more successful than others. Most of them concentrate on the mastery of the art of cello playing with emphasis on proper posture and accurate use of the instrument. Many methods claim to support a healthy playing style and guarantee results. But the art of cello playing is much more than a posture and how we use the instrument. Also, Proper does not always mean correct, and Accurate is a very subjective term.
My original approach, Physiology of Cello Playing is built on the fact that the cellist and the instrument are one unit. It is based on the fundamental understanding of human physiology and on the knowledge of the construction of the instrument - the "physiology" of the instrument. It is wrong to think that humans are designed to play the cello. However, the cello was ingeniously designed to be played by humans. On our journey, I will guide you through your discovery of the cello sound and how it is created. You will become a cellist. Even after 40 years of playing, this process still excites me. I will make sure it will excite and enrich you too.

I offer private lessons in a variety of programs to:
I am a classically trained cellist with a decades-long experience, however, I do not teach just "classical cello." I am a master of the instrument with specialization in classical music. However, I enjoy playing and teaching all musical genres and styles.
The goal of all of my programs is the mastery of the instrument. It is up to my students how they decide to use their newly acquired skills.
All my programs are designed to accommodate the needs of students as well as the requirements of the learning process with the set goal in mind. I pay individual attention to every student and I adjust the teaching pace according to their abilities. The intensity and length of each program have a certain amount of flexibility. However, to maximize the return on their financial and time investments students must dedicate themselves to the process the same as I do.
I have limited number of spots dedicated for small, talented, and dedicated children and young beginners. All are required to take an entrance talent examination. Parent(s) are required to undergo a consultation where they will learn the structure and demands of the selected program.
Once we agree on lessons, the parents and a child must dedicate their time and energy to our set goals and abide by Studio Policies and by the demands of lessons, including the preparation for them.
Advanced transfer students must present a release note or a recommendation letter from their former teacher. This is to eliminate any possible conflict of interest as well as to verify a student’s musical history.
Adult enthusiasts and professional music students who decide to sign up for a regular private lesson program are required to take an initial MASTER CONSULTATION to determine their level and to clarify their goals before signing up for regular lessons.
